Comics&Denim Collection

Glasgow, Scotland, January 2005. I was on the train going to Edinburgh. On the way, I decided to take a look at the souvenirs I had purchased during the day.
Taken with my purchases I didn’t notice that my stop had come, so I had to get off the train really quickly before it was too late. There was a very strong wind out there, so much so that it was difficult for me to walk straight.
Hair in the wind, disheveled and with tons of bags in my hands, I finally managed to reach the sidewalk. I turned around to protect myself from the wind and I suddenly noticed my image reflected on a shop window.
The wrapping paper from the souvenirs was now all wrapped around my legs forming a kind of skirt. Immediately that view  caught my attention, and on that wrapping paper there were all superheros from the comics.
Of course I loved the effect. Needless to say, when I returned home I immediately set my mind to work trying to find that particular fabric.
It was not easy at all, indeed several years passed before I fully succeeded in my endevour. After various tests, and several combinations I created the pencil skirt with the denim baschina and the comics pattern.
